The short version

PhotoDeduper does not collect, transmit, sell, or share your data. Everything the extension does happens inside your browser, on your device.

The PhotoDeduper extension

Photo data stays on your device. Scanning, duplicate matching, and review run entirely in your browser, within your own logged-in Google Photos session. There is no PhotoDeduper server; your photos, thumbnails, and metadata are never sent to us or anyone else.
Local storage only. Scan results, settings, and cached thumbnails are stored locally in your browser (IndexedDB and extension storage) so scans can resume. Uninstalling the extension removes them.
Network requests go only to Google. The extension talks exclusively to Google Photos and Google's image-hosting domains, as you, in your existing session — the same requests the Photos website itself makes.
No analytics, no tracking, no accounts. The extension contains no telemetry, advertising, or third-party analytics of any kind.
Diagnostics are yours to send, or not. The extension keeps a local diagnostic log (errors and scan events, with identifying values scrubbed) that only you can see. It is shared only if you explicitly click "Report a problem", which copies the report to your clipboard for you to email. Nothing is sent automatically.

This website

No forms, no cookies, no analytics. This site collects nothing, sets no cookies, and runs no tracking scripts. Our host (Cloudflare) may process standard server logs (IP address, user agent) to serve and protect the site.
Embedded videos load only on click. Some pages embed a YouTube video behind a click-to-play preview image served from this site. Nothing loads from YouTube until you press play; when you do, the video streams from YouTube's privacy-enhanced domain (youtube-nocookie.com), and YouTube's own privacy policy applies to that playback.

Changes

If this policy changes, the new version will appear at this address with an updated effective date.
